Based on the document, I would argue that Abraham Lincoln was most responsible for the emancipation. I say this because he issued the emancipation proclamation in 1863, which declared all the slaves in the Confederate territory free. This was a significant turning point in the fight for freedom as this gave the union a moral and legal justification for fighting against slavery.

however, i would also note that the document set does not provide a complete or comprehensive picture of the factors that lead to emancipation. The sources are limited and do not represent the perspectives of all individuals who were involved in the fight for freedom.
