I would choose to modify Episode I: The Phantom Menace. This movie has been rightfully charged by fans as the bane of Star Wars and as the shame of the series. While its graphics and CGI were appreciated by fans, The Phantom Menace was severely lacking in plot and character development. My first step would be omitting Jar Jar Binks. This character fails to contribute to the plot and almost derails the entire movie with its juvenile attempts at comic relief. However, Jar Jar Binks is merely a symptom of the movie’s main weakness: bad writing.
