It should be defined by how long you live in a country and if illegal immigrants have lived in the country for saying 5 - 10 years, he or she should immediately become a citizen and have all rights other citizens have. These people keep the country running; they pick the crops, build the houses, wash the bathrooms, and care for the sick and elderly. While undocumented workers have always been treated poorly, they were also welcomed, albeit implicitly in a period characterized by economic expansion in the United States. The President’s executive actions will give parents of American citizens or legal resident children who have lived in the United State for more than five years relief from deportation if they register with the government, undergo background checks, and pay taxes.
