Jim crow laws were laws that separated blacks and whites. Jim crow laws were against black they only hurt blacks or whites that were trying to help them. Jim crow laws were laws anything from blacks not being able to be in the same place as whites to blacks not being able to get a good education. Jim crow laws were a step away from slavery but not a big enough. Whites still treated blacks like slaves, whites were mean to blacks just because they did not have the same color of skin.

Blacks did not make much money and whites selling land or homes would drive up the price. Whites would use anything to make it harder for the blacks to get land they would use blacks schooling or never offer it to them in the first place. This made it very hard for blacks to get anywhere
Whites got better schooling and easier jobs with more pay. Blacks had harder jobs longer hours and were lucky if they $2 a day. A lot of blacks had a hard time finding jobs because employers used their schooling as a reason not to hire them. A lot of them did farm work for used to be slave owners.
If blacks were breaking/ broke jim crow laws they could be fined big time or even sentenced to death. Something as little as not tipping your hat could end blacks up in jail, or fined heavily. By far the worst punishment for breaking jim crow laws were mobbing. Mobbing is where whites get together to “hunt down” blacks who broke the law, mobbes normally hong blacks for everyone to see.
