With it being 2018 and America being one of the most diverse countries in the world, it faces many social problems. A social problem is any behavior or condition that has a negative effect for a large amount of people. As the population of America steadily increases so does the amount of social problems. This is because the more people there are, there is more opinions, beliefs, and cultures. America’s population today is 323 million people. Even if a small portion of the population can be a massive influence due to social media, news, blogs, and advertisements. There is one problem in particular that has been in America for quite some time, police brutality.

Which means that our officers are being too aggressive which is impairing their judgement. Only a small fraction of the over 17,000 law enforcement agencies actually track officers misconduct reports. This is wrong because it lets police get away with committing multiple crimes against the citizens. The most targeted race for police brutality is African Americans. This is extremely disappointing because our police should be better than to judge somebody by the tone of their skin.Not only is police brutality wrong but it is also very expensive. One of the more common approaches is protesting. Protesting against police stations and other prominent areas in a city where police brutality occurred is a good way to start in the fight against this issue. Protests would also help spread awareness to others who might be unaware of the issue. Another awareness approach to the problem is recording the officers. Recording instances of police brutality is an efficient way of exposing any underlying corruption and abuse of power by police officers.
