Children are priceless and the best gift to everyone. Without children, a family seems to be incomplete and even not a family. Nevertheless, with improvements and advances in science, medicine, and technology, today dreams of couples who are seeking to have a baby can come true via third party assisted reproduction such as surrogacy. When surrogates and intended couples enter surrogacy arrangements they should have responsibilities and know all risks of surrogacy, in order to prevent cases in which there will form disagreements between them. As Söderström-Anttila et al. denote there are some rare cases, in which surrogate denies to relinquish baby or intended parents are not willing to welcome a child (p273). But it would not happen if they had obligations, which are regulated by law. According to Söderström-Anttila et al. “before entering surrogacy arrangement counselling is extremely important and should be paid more attention to by parties” (p273). During such counselling, they should be informed about their rights and responsibilities, whether surrogate can keep the child, or can intended parents control her body.
