Majority of undocumented workers live in the Rio Grande Valley due to proximity to the border. In the Rio Grande Valley, the economy has grown throughout the years due to the number of immigrants fleeing from their homeland and coming to the United States. “In the next decade that number nearly doubled, and today it is well over 4 million, far outstrip- ping the rate of overall population growth.” (Brannon).
