In William Shakespeare’s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, two star-crossed lovers fall in love despite their feuding families. Their love meets many obstacles, deaths, banishment, their parents and friends on their journey to the end. The Capulet and Montague families and their mutual hatred and their consequent actions, have a hand in the way the tragedy unfolds. Therefore, it could be said that it is their own poor decisions that result in their untimely deaths. Juliet makes the decision to run to Friar Lawrence for help. Friar Lawrence encourages Juliet to take the potion, but he doesn’t force her to take it. Juliet decides to take it of her own free will. It is Romeo who decides to kill Tybalt in anger and it is Romeo who kills himself in haste. Romeo was immature and too quick to fall in love.
