Shakespeare was one of the greatest writers of his time and possibly even all time. In the very popular play that he wrote in 1595, Romeo and Juliet are from two enemy families and fall in love with each other at first sight. Romeo and Juliet rush to get married behind their families back. However, sadly in the end Romeo and Juliet both commit suicide. So who's to blame for their deaths?

Friar Lawrence is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death. One example from the play in Act 2, Scene 3, Friar Lawrence agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet behind their parents back and without their permission. This evidence clearly proves he is to blame for their deaths because if it wasn't for them trying to get married secretly they would not have ended up dying.
