Civilization did not start in European countries, and the rest of the world did not wait in darkness for the Europeans to bring the light (Jackson, 1990). When one has to examine world history most of the history books written glorify the Europeans and their accomplishments. The Romans and Greeks are given credit for medicine, philosophy and technology that basically created the foundation for the rest of the world. European historians are not willing to write about African history and their contribution to the world even though it predates Europe over thousands of years. Civilizations such as the Egyptians, Moors and Olmec are considered European or not African; because historians refuse the idea that African people were capable of such an advance civilization. Egyptologists through the years created outlandish theories that the Europeans were Egyptian and gave math, science and astronomy to native Africans. There is evidence and recorded facts that Africans made the voyage to the Americas way before Columbus in 1492. Mary Lefkowitz, scholar and Professor at Wellesley College, was asked about the possibility of Africans coming to America she said, “If there was a voyages made during this time it would have resulted accidentally ( )” West African Civilizations built and sailed ships at least thousands of years ago and these ships had sails and masts, which made it easy to for them sail to America. They would sail up and down the African coast in search of precious metals like gold, Iron and copper. Bynum (2001) states “There are three natural currents flowing from Africa to the Americas and an ocean span only one thousand five hundred miles, but from Europe the span is three
