Everyone who takes basketball seriously knows it’s more than a sport, more than just an interest and more than just a desire that people have. Many people love the game because of how it makes them feel and the happiness associated with participating. Blood, sweat, and tears are just the small things that someone experience while playing the game. The attitude and feelings associated with the game makes it my preferred sport. The skills and techniques learned while on the hardwood has proven to prepare me for the future.
I believe being a team player is the most important aspect if basketball. I play the game to win. Teams needs to play on a cohesive level. A good team is one who actually respects the members on the team and possess’ the motivation to go all the way. Teams that abide by the rule of basketball often are very successful. The previous NBA world championships showcased the skills of team work on the biggest stage.
I believe basketball enables you to meet new people. One game of basketball can tell you more about a person then anyone can imagine. Growing a connection with your teammates helps you learn them as a whole. Just one pickup game can tell you about a person’s life. How someone acts while playing the game allows me to identify several traits they may possess. Awareness of self, their personality, enthusiasm and readiness are examples of what I learn within the first few minutes of playing basketball with someone. I learn many things about that individual and choices they make in life. Connection can help teams who play basketball and can give those with less hope proof that basketball is more than a game.
