This book centers on Benjamin Ripley. Though Ben lacks the physical strength and coordination of the other students, along with not yet having the benefit of their months or years of education, he is a clever, adaptable, and determined student who makes up for his weaknesses with his intellectual strengths. Another character is Erica Hale. She is a highly intelligent, resourceful, and skilled teenage spy who works for a top-secret government agency called the CIA. Another character in the book is the principal of the CIA Academy Barnabas Sidebottom, although, for being an employee of an intelligence agency, he doesn't often display much intelligence. Sidebottom also holds a large grudge against Ben for multiple reasons. Those are just a few of the main characters in the Evil Spy School book.
