How my skills can be used to prepare for the selection process.
Transport and Harbours Department uses the Job Interview process to choose candidates that best qualify for the job openings in the organisation and in order to be selected for the job, candidates are invited to attend Panel Interviews that are usually conducted by the Personnel Manager and at least two (2) Senior Officers within the organisation.
Getting pass this selection process may require some prior preparations and as such I will need to ensure that I am fully prepared to be successful, after being invited to attend an interview at the Transport and Harbours Department.

When invited into the interview room, my self-confidence, non-verbal communication and active listening skills will be used to further assist me to show the interviewers that I am the right candidate for the job. Upon entering the room I will display confidence as I approach the interviewers with my documents showing my qualifications, personal information etc. after which I will greet them with a pleasant smile while wishing them good morning and wait patiently until offered a seat. After being offered, i will sit up right but comfortably, avoid making nervous gestures like rubbing my palms together or tapping my shoes and ensure I make eye contact with the interviewers. My breathing will also be under control since I would want to appear fully confident to them and I would not want to panic or freeze in the interview as it may the indication that I am unprepared.
My active listening skills will come into play when the interview panel starts to ask questions. It is at this point that I will pay keen attention to the questions that i am being asked and I will ensure to understand same before giving any
