Hello, I´m Jarrett Hutson. I am a Rogers student that lives in Prosper, Texas and I am dyslexic. I feel like I don't get enough time to do my work in class and I also have before and after-school activities that take up a lot of my time.

I believe that school should be extended for more extracurricular work and more time to finish our projects. This is starting to become a more and more popular thing that schools are doing. There are over 700 schools in Washington D.C that have extended their days. That is over 75% of all the public schools. I don't think teachers will complain because it would add an additional $8,000 for the year in which sense the school days are longer the year will be shorter, or there would get an additional $700 per kid to add up to there full yearly paycheck.

One example of a positive impact is that a fifth grade class in eight years ago went to a longer day there was a 90% rate of each of those kids going to college. For a school on a typical 180-day calendar, this translates to roughly 90 minutes of additional classroom time daily.
