Introduction
Our college provides us a chance to interview a person who belong to different religion. So, for this purpose, I interviewed my classmate Jay Siddhapura on February 12, 2018 at Mac Donald’s. We had a meal together and had a long conversation on culture.
I was very excited and energized for this interview because I found this as an opportunity to broaden my vistas by getting knowledge about the diverse culture. It was great fun as I belong to Sikh family and lives in North India and my partner Jay who belong to Hindu religion and grown up in Gujrat which is the western part of India. Moreover, I expected that his cultures should have some distinctive approach to worship God but it was great to know that we both have similar ethics and believes. Jay told me that in their culture, youngsters usually leave their house after marriage as they prefer to live in nuclear families. This is unacceptable for me as in my culture, we prefer to live in joint families and believe that such separations made our parents lonely at that time when they really need our support. Moreover, he said most of the families provides proper education to their girls but do not allow them to go outside for jobs. This is very difficult for me to accept as in my culture, majority of girls are self-dependent and have good jobs. I believe that we are living in advanced era where both genders have equal rights and
