A white lily in a red vase was sitting on a single, round table in the middle of the room. That was the first thing I notice when I opened my eyes. I checked my surroundings; I was in my house. No one was around. The atmosphere was completely different from what I remembered. It felt empty, foreign; like I was thrown into a parallel universe. I walked around the house- checking behind every door, in every crevice- and found no sign of life. I opened the green, front door and took a glimpse outside. Everything was dead; there was no movement, in fact there was nothing at all. The scene itself was normal; the grass was still green, the skies were still blue, and the old, rusty swings that are about to decompose was still there. The old grandfather clock struck three. The chandelier above the dining room table dimmed and slowly flickered off. Exactly 74 seconds later, I counted, the lights went back on. I saw something move out the window in the corner of my eye. I moved the dark blue curtain to the side and looked out the window. Kids of all ages were running around being kids, cars were driving, and birds were flying. It didn’t make sense. I walked outside and tried to talk to someone. I spotted a little boy across the street. He looked maybe seven or eight- I recognized him. His name is Charlie; we used to be friends.
