The first amendment is the most important since it guarantees the basic rights that allow people to control the government. As James Madison said in the Federalist Paper 51 “A dependence on the people is, no doubt the primary control on the government”. This shows that the rights stated in the 1st amendment insure that people are the primary control. The first amendment to the constitution states that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” This means that all people are free to practice any religion they …show more content…
The main goal of this amendment is to provide a safe and secure life for all people. As said by Alexander Hamilton in the federalist paper 184-8 "The best we can help for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed”However, this doesn’t mean that people can randomly shoot whenever they want and kill innocent people that show no harm to them. The amendment doesn’t allow us to commit suicide and threaten other
