My Story Ever since I was little I had thoughts on what I’ve wanted to be when I was older. My mom always talked about how I need to set goals and follow my dreams; which at the age of 10 my dreams were as big as to become an actress or famous singer. As the years passed, and I grew older I came to realize that my true calling was to become a psychologist. Now I am currently on my path to receiving a college education to pursue that dream further. That is what brings me here today. It’s not always about the education and all the hours of hard work we put into writing papers and solving math equations that take 3 hours; But the experience gained by going to college. There is much more than just the school aspect; you make endless memories and countless friends. My college experience has been one of the best times of my life so far. Everything does become stressful at times and some things are harder to overcome than others but that’s why I have my friends and family by my side to support me every step of the way There are many things that motivated me to be in college. Starting with my mom, she was the first person in her family to attend college and that really meant a lot to her. Although I struggled a little throughout high school I was still very much involved. I was captain of the cheerleading team for 4 years and completed 3 years of track, while being elected my senior class historian and also managed to graduate with honors with a 3.8 GPA. My mom really inspired me through my whole life; she has always been the person that has been there for me when things got rough. My dad hasn’t always been in the picture and while she re married when I was younger I can’t help but seeing how much she has been through and how strong she’s been with raising 3 kids.
