My formative English experience, academics or lack of, which I obtained throughout elementary and primary education, in public school systems, will prove deficiencies within current teaching practices, and one's parental choices. Traditional teachers in public school systems often advance failing children throughout the educational levels, thinking the child will eventually apply themselves to achieve the appropriate standards. Parents too, often overlook the initial problem, by not holding the child responsible for academic failures. These failing factors combined results an uneducated product, children and adults, lacking motivation and confidence to be successful.
As I began my educational endeavors, what I can remember of Kindergarten, my parents would work with me at home on the basics; however, all I had to do was complain the work was too hard, and this would get me out of it. I learned at a young age how to manipulate my parents, to me this meant I didn’t have to apply myself to education, this too continued with my teachers. My first teacher, I remember she was an elderly woman, who was very stern, seemed tired of teaching 5-year-old children. I remember the basics, we initially learned the alphabet. My family moved from the current school district, this meant a fresh start with a new school system. I was placed into standard classes, and found myself struggling with the simplest assignments. I was too embarrassed to ask for help, the teachers didn’t seem concerned with my sub-par grades, nor did my parents. My teachers never questioned the D’s and F’s I was receiving, and my parents never noticed. I was continually passed thru this system with what I call failing teachers, and
