Ideas for Your Summer Party
The Fourth of July is one holiday that we all look forward to. Celebrate with a backyard barbeque, a day at the beach, or watching fireworks. Just be sure to have some fun Fourth of July desserts and treats for the kids. Here are some ideas and recipes for Fourth of July treats to serve at your party or to bring to a pot luck. These desserts and treats are especially nice for the summer because they don’t require any baking.
Fourth of July Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods
A sweet and salty Fourth of July treat that looks festive on your party table. Melt chocolate chips in a mug in the microwave. You can use dark or milk chocolate. I like to use white chocolate chips. Use caution, this can get very hot. Spread red, white and blue sprinkles and candies onto a sheet of wax paper. Dip one end of the large pretzel rods into the melted chocolate to coat, about halfway up. Quickly roll the chocolate end of the pretzel in the sprinkles. Place on another sheet of wax paper to harden. Serve in decorative cups, with the chocolate ends up. These remind me of Fourth of July sparklers.
