Since I entered high school, I strived to improve myself mentally and physically. My goals from freshmen year were to get grades above an 80, have an excellent GPA, and get in shape for a team in JROTC called the Raider Team. However, throughout the weeks that went by, experience taught me that you need to step on your stepping stones to achieve your goals. Freshmen year was the year I learned about hard work and dedication, and every step I took to obtain my goals, I was nothing but successful. You could say that every month, maybe every day, I improved on my character, responsibility, grades, and leadership. No one ever starts out being a perfect scholar, leader, or person, but with hard work you might as well get close. In NHS, I will continue to uphold the four pillars by knowing where I started off and teaching not only others, but myself as well, that every day there is room for improvement. When I came here from Honduras, I had the greatest desire to learn English and do great in the school I would be put in. As someone with a strong desire to learn, you will learn efficiently and quick. Throughout Elementary and Middle school my grades from all aspects did nothing but sky rocket each year. Lee. The first ever experience of giving back to my community and service projects are truly amazing. I brought that selfless service spirit with me through high school in JROTC community service events and service learning projects. As a cadet and a Raider, we have community service events almost every week. Some community service events were simple, and some were physically challenging. However, you can’t deny the feeling it will get you each time after a long day of community service. I will continue doing these services in and out of
