There is a strong argument that can be used to convict friar Lawrence as the person responsible for the tragic death of the newly wed couple, Romeo and Juliet. The first thing that Friar Lawrence did was his decision to marry Romeo and Juliet. His approach was that by marrying the two, they would end the feud between the two opposing families, the Montagues and the Capulets. While in the end, his plan did work, it came with an expensive price. Another reason that Friar Lawrence should be held responsible is his involvement with the poisoning of Juliet. He had devised a plan to help Romeo and Juliet get back together after Romeo had been banished. His plan was to have Juliet drink a potion that would "kill" her for twenty four hours and then
