Life, as large as it is, knows how to come around in a full circle. My mother was a teacher as I grew up and I was always told that I would do great following in her footsteps. I, however, decided to chase an entirely different dream. In 2011, I graduated with a Baccalaureates Degree from Queens College in English and Psychology with a minor in Sociology with the sole intent of becoming a lawyer. Afterwards, I immediately attended CUNY School of Law where I successfully completed 45 credits towards a Juris Doctorates Degree. Coincidentally, during the years that I studied, I worked as a tutor and private teacher for numerous children in individual and group settings. I provided encouragement and strength that allowed them to pass exams and I enjoyed the experience. I found myself inventing new and creative ways of teaching, for example: I implemented practice questions in an allotted period of time and provided detailed feedbacks so that they may learn from their mistakes. I allowed their imagination and understanding to grow as they learned, as I grew and learned from them. Furthermore, I began to understand how it is critical to prepare students with the skills necessary to pass not only academic tests, but life. . I eventually discovered that I had a passion and a knack for teaching. It came natural to me and I spent much more time than anticipated on guiding them towards the right path. I decided to change career path and searched to get in a classroom for a more hands-on experience.
