Glaciers are melting fast and may not last for another 1,000 years. The study means that sea levels could rise about 4 feet in 200 years! But if humans slow down global warmings they could slow down the complete disappearance of all of the glaciers. But new studies found that glacier deconstruction is happening, and it’s happening far more quickly than most scientists thought. If you lose even a portion of ice, it would still cause side effects across the globe. The Thwaites could melt as short of 200 years or 1000 years, however it is more likely to be 200 years. The six glaciers have passed the point of no coming back.

A question one has after reading this article is... What could we do to stop the glaciers from melting so fast? We could slow global warming to slow down the glacier deconstruction. What are some of the side effects of the ice melting? Ocean water would decrease because most of the water that is evaporated is replaced by the melted glacier water. As the earth’s temperature continues to warmer, we can expect a major impact on the earth’s fresh water resources which could have major effects on the resources.
