In the short story “A Good Man is Hard to Find” written by the author Flannery O'Connor, we see two characters that are drastically different. These two characters are the grandmother of the family in the story and the Misfit, who was an escaped convict that was on their way to Florida. The grandmother, her son Bailey, and his wife are taking a trip to Florida even though grandma was already worried about going there because of the misfit and she tries to convince them to go to Tennessee instead. Her attempt to persuade them fails and now the family is on the way to Florida. She wakes up from a nap and recalls this plantation that she went to is nearby and the family eventually agrees to go.
