Usually the first thing people usually think about when they hear the word Greek like is excessive partying or hazing. All the negative aspects such as those can often define Greek life because bad news usually tends to travel faster than good. There has been hazing incidents in Greek life can include a wide range of actions being asked to be done due to the fact that one person has a high pin than the other. Hazing usually happens to have a “pledge” prove they are willing to do what ever it takes in order to gain entrance into the frat or sorority of their choice. Most of the time hazing incidents occur at parties where the demand is to drink excessive amounts of alcohol, partake in drugs, get a certain amount of numbers from the opposite sex, or having to complete personal favors for active members. Hazing is completely wrong and is against the law, but that doesn’t seem to stop some chapters of Greek life from doing it. The typical college movies often display sorority girls as extremely beautiful and also extremely promiscuous; while fraternity boys are displayed as binge drinkers who idealize women. While yes there is partying within greek life, it is never as much or as badly as it is displayed in movies. Within the state of Arizona there has been both good and bad incidences that have been recognized. At the University of Arizona the fraternity Theta Chi was dismembered due to a hazing incident.( http://www.abc15.com/news/region-central-southern-az/tucson/theta-chi-fraternity-shut-down-over-hazing-paddling-at-university-of-arizona) While on the other had all fraternities and sororities at Northern Arizona University have performed 17,870 hours of community service during the 2014-15 academic
