Everyone had also expressed how they were looking forward to the group meeting. At the beginning of the meeting we noticed the therapeutic factor of universality because we found that we all had same trouble doing the homework I had assigned last week. For instance, all of us agreed that we are sometimes too busy to do any personal care. We all seemed to be judgmental on ourselves. Another therapeutic factor the group used was altruism especially when the members wrote positive affirmations to each other on the back of everyone’s letter. Some people followed up with other members while others updated the group about things they had brought up last week. At this stage, everyone is allowed to direct and catalyze so everyone had the opportunity to take over if they wanted to.
