Abstract: The following information is a report on the results obtained for labs five and six. Lab five was composed of two activities: (1) Effect of Enzyme Concentration on Reaction Rate and (2) Effect of Substrate concentration on Reaction Rate. Activity one tested three distinct types of enzyme concentrations, low, medium, and high enzyme concentrations. Within the different enzyme concentrations were a control, substrate, and enzyme group. The following substances were also used in the experiment, Guaiacol, Turnip Extract, Peroxide, and Distilled water. Activity two used three different amounts of the enzyme concentration being 0.5 ml, 1.0 ml,

Measuring the reaction rate with the substrate it was clear that the medium concentration had the highest reaction rate in which our group concluded that a specific amount was better than a higher, this being evident due to the highest amount of substrate having the lowest reaction rate. The results for lab six proved that enzymes function best at a desired temperature. Enzymes function best at 37 degrees Celsius followed by 4 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius and 60 degrees Celsius being the lowest reaction rate due to the enzyme not being able to function in that type of environment. Activity two results lead us to believe the effects of inhibitors could vary, zero drops had the highest reaction rate, and the number of drops would not really affect the reaction rate in the future, but keep it constant. Five drops caused the reaction rate to act quickly but be constant, and the one drop was the same but at a much slower rate. With this new knowledge, we can learn more about chemical reactions and what may cause a change in reaction
