Parents concerned for the safety of their children because of the distance between the school and the range. Because of previous school shootings, the parents believe that a gun range so close to a school gives people better access to replicate the re-occurrence of a school shooting (Pellom). I understand the concern about the distance between the school and the range; however, there is no definite risk that the gun range negatively affects the elementary school. The distance is too far to be a danger and security strictly monitors the gun range along with regulations and qualifications that an individual must undergo to purchase a gun.
