While other tribes treat slaves harsh and are very rude to them. Slaves never get paid money, but they got food, water, and shelter. Many colonies wanted to have slaves for example the Southern Colonies. Slavery was mostly used for people who were loyal and or had control over people, and others. They were provided little food and water. Most slaves came from Africa. It would take them over 9,000 miles to get to the places they needed to be. Many slaves had several stops. During slavery, people including the slaves fought back. Not many people fought back because they were afraid of what was going to happen to them. It all started with congress. They passed the law for slavery but then stopped it in 1865. Congress saw how harsh and how challenging it was for the slaves. The slaves started fighting against the law later in the 1860’s. Congress finally saw how mad the slaves were and how it wasn’t right that the slaves were being treated that way. On January 31, 1865 the Congress meeting started. Congress had a lot of arguments along with agreements about slavery. Then finally on December 6, 1685 they passed the new law. The law said they slavery is now abolished in all 13 colonies. If they found anyone who had a slave or servant then that would count of a offence to crime. BUt this all started when the British stopped slavery trading in 1783. They did not allow anymore slaves to be traded by ship from Africa to the Caribbean to the colonies. The officially stopped it and then the southern colonies started scrambling for more slaves. That's how slavery finally stopped in 1865. Today now we do not allow slavery and our proud to say that freedom exists all over America. Thank you to the brave British colonies and to the Congress for stopping
