Work, work, work. Is all you hear everyday in your life. Or maybe you even hear the sound of whips hitting you in the back. Only if your a slave then you would hear that. But if you were a plantation owner than you would smell money, see the ships and sea, and hear the sound of slaves getting bid on. You sell your crops and head over to the slave bidding. You slowly see one 12 year old kid get bid on, then a 50 year old man get bid on. You see the slaves coming off the ship and getting separated from each other. Families slowly getting separated. Children, siblings, families are all going to different plantations. On the plantations you see about 50 slaves, crops, ships,

Indigo was used to dye clothes, cook, and clean. Indigo usually dyed a lot of clothes, if you were blue clothes that were dyed by indigo that usually meant that you had a lot of wealth or were a plantation owner (which were always wealthy). A regular pair of blue jeans used 3-12 grams of indigo, depending the size. Regular they died ingo with clothes, but sometimes they used indigo for dying wool, and silk. Indigo was a vibrant purple color but when died with other clothing color it changes to a blue. They first boiled the indigo to get it to a darker color then added the clothing to the indigo. After they left the clothing in there for awhile then it would start to turn blue. After a few days then they would take out the clothing from the pot and the colthes would be a nice blue color. Rice was a very special cash crop because it was hard to grow and maintain. Lucky for the Southern Colonies they had amazing weather, perfect for growing a bunch of different types of rice. Rice was and is the most important grain for consumption for humans. Many people eat rice not only by itself but with other foods. The southern colonies enjoyed eating rice and trading it. Most of the times the slaves got a small portion of rice for dinner that they would eat. Rice takes anywhere from 3-6 months growing depending on the type of rice.

Tobacco: Tobacco was the larger cash crop, everyone and every colony wanted it Tobacco all started in the 1600s. Tobacco became really popular after the American Civil War. Tobacco was an instant boom after a recent market seller planted and sell it. Tobacco was being used for a lot of things. Once tobacco first grew and sold it became a big part of the southern colonies plantations. Plantations started to get more seeds to plant and started getting more slaves to work. They were always selling tobacco. Tobacco wasn't as bad as it was today but important back then.
