Obesity is “the condition of being grossly fat or overweight.” It is not just being "thick boned", or even hereditary. Obesity has become a growing concern around the world but a verycolossal problem here in the United States. Many don't believe that obesity is a chromic medical disease that can lead to many other major diseases. Obesity has an extenuating negative effect on health. An overweight person can possibly develop hypertension, type-2 diabetes and musculoskeletal disorder, putting them an increased risk of developing heart disease. Physical inactivity is another changeable major risk factor for insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease. Exercising and losing weight can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes, reduce blood pressure and help reduce the risk for heart attack and stroke. Chronic stress exposes your body to unhealthy, persistently elevated levels of stress hormones like adrenaline, a hormone that temporarly causes your breathing and heart rate to speed up as well as increased your blood pressure, and cortisol. When stress is constant, your body remains in high gear off and on for an extended period of time. The constat stress that is being put on the body could potentially damage the artery walls.. This indicator however effects everyone differently, some may handle stressful events better then those who become angry, fearful, moody, or anxious. Also stress is not only caused by events that are negative but it can be cause by a physical or emotional change or a change in one's specific enviromentg that requires adjustment. When exposed to long periods of stress is when it typically takes a toll on your body but your body will give you warning signs to prevent your body from crashing. Your body's response to stress may be a headache, back strain, or stomach pains. Stress can also drain you of energy, have major effects on your sleep and make you feel cranky, forgetful and out of control.
