Heroism is using intellect, wit and logic to help solve problems and resolve conflict. Marie Curie, although born into a poor, unstable family, worked for her education from a young age. Without her wanting a better education she may have never of gone onto find life changing discoveries that still affect us today. She knew that education was a key role for her future. In a moment of crisis, heros will sacrifice themselves first and foremost to ensure the safety of others. In Paris, three americans did just this one day as they were aboard a high speed train, as written in Source #2. In addition, there was also a gunman on the train. Knowing the rest of the innocent passengers were threatened, the three americans stepped up and looked at danger straight in the eyes. Therefore, they ended up “unarming and tackling the gunman”, according to Source #2. As a result, they proved a real life example that selflessness is a main part of heroism. In the same way, my mom has these characteristics as well. With three kids, including my brothers and I, she never fails to take care of us and put us first. Whether it is sports or school, she makes sure all of our needs are met. Her priority is always others in front of herself, never requiring much.
