With these 2 main components ICE enforces over 400 federal statutes. Right now, ICE has “more than 20,000 employees in more than 400 offices in the United States and 46 foreign. The agency has an annual budget of approximately $6 billion” dollars. (Department of Homeland Security, n.d.) Being a part of ICE has its advantages because it is a part of a federal agency. Being a federal employee means you have more jurisdiction and resources. Like other federal agencies ICE overlaps other federal jobs. ICE acts in the same ways as the United States Border Patrol. This section of ICE stops terrorists from exploiting the nation's immigration system through fraud. This group is made up of two sections Terrorist Tracking and Pursuit Group, and SEVIS Exploitation Section.
