How Did African Americans End Segregation

Over the years of America African Americans have had a very difficult time here and we're often very segregated. Many people helped end segregation including Jackie Robinson and Rosa Park. They both did amazing things and were very important for African Americans in America. Everyday African Americans are getting closer and closer to end segregation completely. White privilege is something that people of color say that whites are treated a lot better and if it were white vs black the white person would automatically win.

Rosa parks was an African American women, one day she was on a public bus in the front and the bus driver told her to make room for white people and go to the back. Rosa refused and that was one of the leading acts that ended segregation. This refusal started a city wide boycott. The city ended up giving up that rule that African Americans have to sit in the back of the bus. The law said that the bus driver had "powers of a police officer of the city while in actual charge of any bus for the purposes of carrying out the provisions". This was huge at the time because it meant a huge step for blacks very similar to how everyone felt when Barack Obama was elected president. It was a break through from segregation. Now almost 10% of the MLB players are African American, And about 75% of the NBA is African American. Like Rosa Park, Jackie Robinson was also arrested for not getting up and going to the back of a segregated bus. At this time they had a different league for white and colored people. Jackie was the first to start the switch of mixing the league. While playing there was a lot of tension between players fans and teammates all against Jackie and it was a very difficult time for him but he was patient and kind and it worked out for him and all
