When one hears the word “Hero”, what do they think of? They might think of a person with a brave, bold personality (in this case a Hobbit). As Mr Webster would say,”A hero is a man admired for his achievements or noble qualities.” Bilbo Baggins is not your typical hero. At first, he was very OCD and only himself mattered, but throughout the book, he becomes less self-centered and is not nearly as OCD as he once was. He also developed the trait of cleverness in him. Another change he underwent was going from worrying about a pocket hanky to riding across the Misty Mountains in the middle of a rainstorm. Before the quest/journey, he was your typical everyday hobbit. He was as clever as any other average hobbit. Afterwards, though, he was one of the cleverest around. He was even starting to compare to Gandalf, the wizard that was along on the journey with them. This was one other noticeable change in Mr Bilbo.
The final change in him was going from his prissy self worrying about a pocket handkerchief not needing one and riding across the Misty Mountains in the middle of a storm. Riding on horseback across mountains is one thing, but doing it in the middle of a huge storm is something else. That thing is bravery. Bilbo had a BUNCH of courage to ride across those mountains, and his old wouldn't have done it. That is the last of the noticeable changes in Bilbo. In conclusion, there have been major changes in Bilbo. If he hadn't gone on the quest, then the changes would not have happened. Bilbo is a completely different person than he was at the beginning of the book, and he changes for the better throughout
