I believe that Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X were both pivotal figures in the American civil rights movement, but their philosophies and approaches to achieving racial equality differed significantly. Martin Luther King's philosophy of nonviolent resistance and integration made more sense than Malcolm X's more harsh and violent methods for several reasons.
