When lots of precipitation showers and small thunderstorms start to begin in an area of low air pressure, hurricanes may start to form. If the area of water is at least 26 degrees Celsius, a hurricane may begin to form. Low air pressure then causes air that is hot and humid to rise from the ocean. When that air rises, it forms a spiral shape. The spiral then lets out and takes in even more hot air, causing the spiral to become a strong gust of air. Once a lot of moist and hot air is collected in the spiral, it becomes stronger and faster.
