Confidence plays a significant role in sports. I can't say that I am confident all the time, but when I am, it is a great feeling. When I used to do gymnastics, it took a lot of practice and correction of mistakes to feel truly confident performing a skill. After I did a trick correctly that I had worked hard on, I felt like I accomplished so much. As a performance team, we would show off our skills during halftime at basketball games. With all those people watching, it is important to be completely confident and comfortable in what you are doing—especially since I did it so often. It is not just something that happens overnight. You must take time out of your day to work on things to improve on. For example, if you have a huge project coming up, you will need to work on it throughout the week and not just the night before. If I left my project to the last minute, I would be uncertain about my grade and I know for a fact I would not be confident. Confidence is also intriguing. Imagine walking up to the front of the class. You open your presentation, stand tall, and begin. Your words are fascinating as you compel the class with your presentation. In most cases, your presentation will stand out and stick in people's minds. You were interesting and more people listened and remember the data and topics you talked about. They appreciated the change in presentation and were excited to hear what you had to say because you were so confident and put work into it.
