I personally have never thought of working on a team such as IV team: I have always seen myself working on a unit with patients in a hospital, providing bed side care and getting to know every patient as well as I can. However, after working with the IV team I have found a love for working on a team where it is run by nurses and there is so much freedom for the members of the team. Throughout the day, I would ask Jordan questions about her position and how she liked her job, which is something I expected myself not to do because I had no interest in working on a team, such as the IV team, before the observation began. After this observation, I would love to work with IV therapy again. From this observation with the IV team, I was able to observe how a nurse can utilize different techniques not only to help with the insertion of IVs, but how to organize and prioritize certain tasks throughout a shift. Not only that, but I know now tips and tricks to utilize when taking care of patients with IVs. I realized I do have some knowledge on IV therapy, however I only know the basics and need to research more into IV therapy. I have plans over break to learn more about the various IVs a patient can receive, as well as finding out other tips and tricks to use on patients that could have very valved veins or very small
