In simple terms, illegal immigration is a lot like trespassing onto someone's land without permission. Illegal immigrants make up about 3% of the United States population, which is about 1 million people out of all of the 331 million souls that are in the United States. Illegal immigration can be good in some cases, but let's talk about the cons of illegal immigration in the United States. Illegal immigration can affect the United States negatively in many ways. I think the most common effect that illegal immigration has on the United States is the buying and selling of illegal drugs such as marijuana, fentanyl, and many other different types of illegal drugs. The United States is at fault for the drug production but illegal immigration is also at fault because most of the imported drugs are coming from Mexico. But not all of it should be blamed on the Mexican citizens themselves. Most or if not all of the drugs being produced in Mexico come from the Mexican cartel and the Mexican cartel make up about 30-35% of all of Mexico. Drug smuggling is the biggest worry about illegal immigration, but there are a few other negative effects illegal immigration has on the United States, such as security risk. When immigrants enter the United States illegally they have no paperwork behind them so we have no record of them. So it is a security risk because it is a lot easier to attack the United States government when there is no record of you even being alive. So allowing illegal immigrants to come into the United States would be bad because we would also be allowing people like terrorists, cartels, and many other bad people who want to attack the United States. There are a few reasons why illegal immigration is bad, but illegal immigration can also be very good and even help the United States out. There are many reasons why illegal immigration is good. Starting with the most common one is the job. Illegal immigrants do a lot of the jobs that United States citizens don’t like to do, or even won’t do at all.
