I am the proud owner of a one year old Great Dane, and let me tell you having to leave him every moring just breaks my heart. If my job offered the "Bring Your Dog to Work" program I would particpate in a New York minute.

As somebody that has severe anxiety having Axel, my Dane around me automatically keeps me calm. He helps me be able to perform everyday tasks. Even if it is something as simple as laying beside my feet while I fill out paper work or read. In the article "In Support of Bringing Dogd to Work" in paragraph two it says, "Researchers have found that when pet owners interact witht heir dogs, they experiance a sense of well-being and feel less stress and anxiety."

Although my dog is incrediably well behaved he does have seperation problems. So having to leave him at home for long periods of time makes me nervous. Even though i know that he will be perfectly fine by himself I can't help but wonder about him during the day. If i was able to have him with me at work i wouldn't mind putting in the occasional over time. So i'd have to agree with the authors opinion in the first article when they say, "I never

these task would distract the dogs' caretakers from work." I must say i completely disagree witht this statement. Any pet owner knows the daily routine of their animal and simply taking them out for a bathroom break is no huge task. As far as feeding and watering goes if your animal is at your work station with you why wouldn't you have both their food and water there with you. You wouldn't have to stop what your doing to take care of those basic needs. A dog doesn't need to be played with multiple times a day. I also highly doubt somebody would stop what they are doing at work to play with their pet. There is a time and place to play and most the time the pet understands
