“Invictus” is primarily constructed of deep and powerful metaphors. In fact, the whole poem is just one big metaphor. He even started out the documentary out with a flashback, in which it showed him as a kid ,including family photos and videos. But, perhaps the most influential flashback used is in the scene when they were robbing the bank. He used bright lighting and slow motion to show how it went by in a flash … but yet, so slow. The lighting made it blurry but the use of slow motion made it more visible. He uses testimonies of victims to show the different perspectives of how the robbery happened of how the robbery did not just effect him but, how it effected the ones he robbed. The testimonies really reveal the theme, which is, that no matter how bad you messed up in the past, you can make the most of what you got, and still have a bright
