Compared to the American dream, now it most definitely has changed. There are more opportunities and many different kinds of people living here now than there ever was, but there is just as much struggle with lower classes just to make a steady income. The minimum wage is $7 per hour, barely enough to pay for bills let alone a mortgage on a house and if you want to go to school to get more money that costs too and you’re left with thousands of dollars in debt. “The American dream is still alive, it just requires a shift in mindset and a more proactive approach. Whereas previous generations could be more complacent about their future, today you must take action or your standard of living could easily slide toward poverty” the American dream has been associated with a successful career and home ownership but the mental well being and relationship people have with themselves is more important in my eyes; letting people be who they want to be without ridicule and drawbacks in their state of being. We are all trying to figure out who we want to be and no one person has
