Educational Essay: Bullying
Imagine that you are in middle school and every day you see one of the slightly smaller sixth graders getting punched in the gut by the meanest kid in the school you walk away expecting someone else to do something but no one does. After about a month the kid is fed up with it and decides he can’t take it anymore so he commits suicide. The next morning on the news you hear about what he did the previous night and you get mad at the mean kids that were always picking on him but then you realize that you might have been able to change his fate if you had only intervened when you had the chance. Bullying is a serious problem in today’s environment; according to bullyingstatistics.org over 4000 kids will commit suicide a year due to bullying and for every suicide committed there are about 100 attempts. At first bullying may be thought of as a crude joke or juvenile behavior but it takes lives and a human life is not a joke. But we shouldn’t only blame the people that do it but also the people that have the ability to stop it but don’t. In the previous instance if you were able to stop the bullying you should have and you would have saved a life. Most people won’t interfere because they think someone else will which isn’t the best reasoning. Bullying can be prevented and we must try our best to prevent it
Bullies, they are everywhere, we see them all the time, anyone who makes fun of a person for any reason is a bully. Bullies like to pick fights that they know they can win but they shouldn’t have that luxury. When you first think of a bully you think of a person who is naturally mean but the truth is most bullies have been pushed around and beat up themselves whether it is at home or at school and they start to bully because they want to feel that
