Joseph Patrick Kennedy was an Irish immigrant, businessman, but more importantly a man with a dream to be involved in something greater for the good of the American people. With the support of the Fitzgerald name, the rigor to live this dream grew stronger from generation to generation. A family dream would become a reality leaving John and Robert Kennedy to live up to the standards. These Kennedy brothers each had such political poise and knowledge that allowed them to thrive in American politics even with the short period of time they were given. Joe and Rose’s son Joe Jr. was a navy pilot. Pilot Kennedy was destined for a future in politics but sadly never got to pursue that plan because of his passing while serving his country on a navy mission. John F. Kennedy was charming, bubbly, and very appealing to the American citizen’s eye overall. John Kennedy was the third eldest Kennedy child. John carried on the family dream after Joe Jr. passed.[4] Kennedy attended Harvard University, a school where only the calibers of scholars attend. This showed Kennedy’s dedication to his education and strong work ethic. Harvard paved JFK’s road to success in politics. Kennedy’s career began at age 29 in the House of Representatives and Senate in 1952. [8] Through schooling, the military, and other social settings JFK made valuable relationships with blue collars and white collars, which glorified his name and morals to many. This led to tremendous support for Kennedy through Massachusetts Eleventh District campaign. [5] During the presidency campaign Kennedy faced judgment for being too catholic. Voters and fellow politicians feared that if Kennedy were in office and the Pope gave him direction that he would take it and lead under Catholic government’s ideas. Kennedy was a major trendsetter of 1960s style and was extremely influential on the evolution for American culture. Jacqueline Kennedy was born in posh Southampton, New York. Mrs. Kennedy’s parents were John Vernon Bouvier III and Janet Lee Bouvier. Mrs. Kennedy was French and of Catholic descent. She socially and culturally was the perfect edition to the Kennedy family. She was the prominent and wealthy stockbrokers daughter. The Bouvier family was well known and loved by many. Growing up Mrs. Kennedy appeared in many horse shows and was well respected in sports. [11] Jacqueline Bouvier was bestowed upon society as debutante of the year. Her Class, elegance, intelligence, and amiable personality got her this title and these values would carry on with her as first lady. [12] Her past popularity and way with people brought such elegance to the white house. In 1951 Mrs. Kennedy was a photographer and interviewer for the Washington Times-Herald and even interviewed John F. Kennedy. Mrs. Kennedy had a career before falling in love with John F. Kennedy which showed how hardworking she was. Kennedy would need impeccable work ethic to be so influential in the white house.
