Written in the nineteenth-century, “The Story of an Hour” is a short story by Kate Chopin concerning the events a woman by the name of Mrs. Louise Mallard who suddenly learns of her husband’s death. The details of the story are not lengthy and are to unfold in the following sequence. To begin the story, the author eludes to the fact that Mrs. Mallard has some type of heart condition; due to this affliction of the heart, her sister Josephine delicately delivers the news of her husband’s death. With the nearby support of a good friend, Richards, who was the first to receive the news that Mr. Millard died in a railroad accident.
