The Story of an Hour`` is the title of the tale. Kate Chopin has written the story of an hour, and other great brief stories; moreover, Kate is an American woman who lived from 1850-1904, and she was recognized for her stories about emotional women. About the settings of the story, the author never mentions in what time it has taken place, but I have noticed that the whole story happened in one hour, in one particular house. The major characters are Brently Mallard, Louise Mallard, Josephine, and Richards. First, Brently Mallard is a railroad man and also Louise´s Husband. Mallard´s house, they were there to take care of Mrs. Mallard for the sake of her heart disease; furthermore, they had other news to reveal, but they were afraid that this news might kill her. Boldly, but sad at same time, Josephine told Louise the news about her husband, whose life was taken away in a railroad accident. Richards was in the newspaper office when he had seen his friend´s name at the top of the list of killed. Louise took the massage lightly, accepting the implication was something that she bypassed. Then, when the storm calms down, she went to her room to alone, and no one followed her. Louise was in her room thinking about how life ahead would be, without her husband, she would be free again, and she kept murmuring ``free! Body and soul free! ``. Hereafter, she will be living for herself there will be no special person to live for even though she loved her husband happiness filled her heart. After the storm comes the sunshine that is what happened to her, she wept and grieved, but she was happy. Josephine was on the other side of the door imploring let her in, for she was worried about her sister, but Louise told her to go away. In the end, she opened the door and came happily out, took her sister´s hand, and went down stairs together.
