The lack of clean water

Not everyone can just go to a tap and turn it on. The lack of clean water in Africa is a big problem to get clean water like we can. 319 million people do not have access to a reliable water source in sub-Saharan Africa. According to “WHO” (world health organization), the regions with the least amount of water are sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. 4,000 children die each day because they do not have access to clean water. To get water you just go to your sink and turn your tap on. But everyday People ( mostly women and girls) in Africa have to spend up to 8 hours a day to collect water for their family. This means that they don’t go to school, therefore they can’t get a good job.For women all that time that they used to get the water they could've used to care for their children. When people carry it in storage containers that are not being washed regularly there is more chance of contamination. That means that there are more chances of becoming ill with water-borne diseases. This all happens because most water sources are polluted.

There are so many ways to make people aware. People can start bake sales and fundraisers, try to get people such as friends and family involved. There are so many ways to get involved you could start a race/fun run or a bottle drive.

Another way that you can get involved would go online. There are so many ways to help online. For example, go to the web page “www.metowe.com” (“WE charity”) it is an organization that helps people that don't have as much as we do they help with getting these people clean water, education, healthcare, etc. There is also “Clean Water Action”. There are so many ways to take action online. This is a good way to get people involved because people are always on their phones, computers, ipads, etc. People could easily tell other people to go on their phone and look up
