Leadership
Please Note: In these statements leadership is defined as: mentoring & coaching; leading by example; guiding; supporting; providing constructive feedback (both positive and negative); leading; and coordinating work of others to achieve given standards.

This may include discussing work or personnel issues with colleagues which would normally result in acceptable resolutions. Leadership also requires leaders to provide colleagues with the degree of autonomy required to efficiently deliver their assigned tasks, or hold colleagues accountable for non delivery against clear instructions.

It does not include responsibility to resolve all personnel issues nor to formally discipline and record details of disciplinary action. It is the responsibility of all leaders, if they cannot resolve the issue within their level of authority, to escalate the issue to their leader in a timely manner. Where possible, the escalating leader should be involved in the resolution of these matters as a coaching opportunity.
